Right now, there is no Xfinity Comcast Stream App designed specifically for Apple TV. The app is available on iOS, however, for the iPhone and iPad.
Comcast Workaround for Watching Xfinity Comcast Stream on Apple TV
While the Xfinity Stream App is available for iOS and iPadOS, it isn’t available for tvOS.
Xfinity also blocks you from Mirroring your screen from the Xfinity Stream app to the Apple TV.
While both companies blame each other and neither is willing to budge as of yet, this leaves us with few options as subscribers to Xfinity and owners of Apple TVs.
But there are still a few tricks left for us.
While the Authentication System set in place isn’t publicly visible, you can still visit these portals and activate channels on your Xfinity Subscription while on your Apple TV if you know the URLs.
Follow these steps:
- Launch a web browser and visit the official Xfinity website, and log in to your account.
- Go to channel on your Apple TV that you have on your Xfinity Subscription Plan.
- When you’re trying to sign, an activation code appears. Note down this code.
- If you try to open the channel again, you’ll get a URL on top. Edit the URL and enter your activation code in the field “authenticate?reg_code=”. Ensure that all the letters in the code are in upper case.
- It can take up to 30 seconds to authorize, but it’s done you should be able to watch TV as usual.
To watch another channel you’ll have to authorize it as well by following the same process.
While this works right now, you might notice that it doesn’t in the future. Do let me know if it doesn’t work for you and I’ll figure something else out.
Watching Xfinity Comcast Stream on Other Apple Devices
Setting up Xfinity Comcast Stream on your iPhone or iPad is straightforward, but there are a few prerequisites.
You’ll have to make sure that your device is on the latest version of iOS before trying to install the app.
Step 1: Go to Settings
Before you even open the Apple App Store, the first thing you need to do is ensure that your Apple device is upgraded to iOS 11.0 or later.
For that, just go to settings and check your system upgrade status. If your device isn’t upgraded to 11.0 or later, first upgrade your device.
Step 2: Open the Apple App Store
After you’ve ensured that your iOS is on the latest version to support the Xfinity Stream app, you have to open the Apple App Store.
Step 3: Search for Xfinity Comcast Stream
After you’ve opened the Apple App Store, click on the search icon and enter ‘Xfinity Stream’ on the search bar.
Scroll through the options and find the Xfinity Stream App.
Step 4: Install and download
Once you’ve found the Xfinity Stream app, click on it. Then click on Install App.
This will download the app and install it on your Apple device.
Step 5: Open the app
After the app has been successfully installed and downloaded, open the Xfinity Stream App.
Ensure that your device is connected either to your cellular connection or Wi-Fi.
Step 6: Swipe right
Once you’ve opened the app, you have to swipe left to right.
This will open the main navigation.
Then you need to check under the Live TV option and click on All Channels.
Step 7: Click on the network logo
After you’ve clicked on All Channels, just click on the network logo present on the left side, and voila!
The channel you wanted to watch is now streaming. Alternatively, you can tap on the program airing now option.
Then click on Watch.

Alternative Media Streamers and Smart TVs That Support Xfinity Comcast Stream
You may be wondering if there are other Smart TVs out there that do natively support Xfinity Comcast Stream.
Smart TVs like FireTV, select Samsung Smart TVs, and Roku do support Xfinity Stream.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind regarding the Xfinity Comcast Stream app’s compatibility with the aforementioned Smart TVs.
To use the Xfinity Stream app on Roku devices, FireTV, and select Samsung Smart TVs, you’ll have to use the Xfinity Stream Beta App.
Furthermore, this app’s compatibility with Sony Smart TV and LG Smart TV has not yet been announced.
The beta version of this app offers limited features, and some features you might be used to are not accessible, such as:
- The Pay Per View event rental feature
- The Control feature through the Xfinity Remote

While the Apple TV is available on certain Smart TVs from Samsung, Vivo, LG, Sony, and Vizio, and game consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One.
It isn’t available on the Xfinity X1 Cable Box or Xfinity Flex.
As of now, there is no way to watch Apple TV on Xfinity.
How to Cast from iPhone to Xfinity TV
Casting from your iPhone to Xfinity TV is actually disable on your Xfinity X1 Cable Box and Xfinity Flex by default. To activate it, follow these steps:

This app is compatible with the iPhone and iPad, for iOS versions more recent than iOS 11.0.
However, you can log in on a Web Browser as a workaround to authorize your Apple TV to access channels on your Xfinity Subscription.
While you won’t have to keep logging in each time you visit the channel, you might find that every two weeks your authorization has expired and you’ll have to follow the procedure again.
The Xfinity Stream app is also compatible with Android 5 or later. So, if you’re looking to have Xfinity Comcast and you’re fine with any platform, I’d recommend getting a Roku. For $35, it’s a solid deal.
