Here are the best N64 emulators for PC and Android. Project64 (Windows) One of the most popular and easy-to-use N64 emulators, Project 64 also has the benefit of being open source. M64p is an open-source, plugin-based Nintendo 64 emulator maintained by loganmc10. The project bundles Mupen64Plus with GLideN64, as well as its own frontend, input plugin, and netplay support. This is likely the most compatible N64 emulator you're going to come across. It can play games like Resident Evil 2, Rogue Squadron.

This is the legendary UltraHLE, the first N64 emulator to run commercial games. It even has sound and joystick support (the joystick support isn't too great, though).
The initial release could play 17 games, but, with the help of updated ultra.ini files, it can now support many more. It was discontinued 6 hours after it's initial release, but it's now being worked on again. You'll need at least a P2-233 system to use it. It runs on Glide, so a 3dfx card or a Glide-wrapper is required. Here's a compatibility list created by Demi.
Ultra.ini is a modified version of the Ultra.ini file that originally came with UltraHLE. It adds support for more games, improves games that already worked, and has lots of optional cheats.
UltraHLP is a tool for UltraHLE that makes it support two players, fixes bugs such as the Mario jump bug, allows you to define up to 16 buttons on a controller, and much more!
UltraHLE-Z is a TOTALLY unofficial release of UltraHLE which features a whole load of stuff, including the Voodoo 3 patch, so it's worth a try. And, I'm adding this if you don't get it: Don't bug the UltraHLE authors about this one. They didn't put this stuff together.
This is an unofficial release of UHLE by L@G, with speed fixes and compatability with Windows XP Voodoo drivers added. If you need Glide2x.dll, then head on over to the Glide Wrappers page and download one.
This is a fix for Voodoo 3 and Banshee users that are having problems running UltraHLE.

Nintendo 64 Emulators

The N64 was released in mid-1996 as Nintendo's front-runner in the original next-gen console wars. Although it was a much higher powered machine than Sony's Playstation or Sega's Saturn, the N64 always lagged behind in sales. Nintendo chose to sell the machine on the merits of its fast-loading cartridge system and the insignificant fact that it featured a 64-bit architecture - unfortunately for Nintendo, people were more impressed by high-capacity CD media, in-game movie sequences and pre-recorded soundtracks than fast loading and the size of the machine's pipeline. Developers often preferred the Playstation for their titles due to the N64's inability to provide media rich content which games such as the Final Fantasy series demanded. Although the hardware facilitated classics such as Goldeneye and the late Perfect Dark, it wasn't enough to win over the masses.
Fortunately the system is well-emulated, allowing us to play legendary games such as Zelda, Turok & Goldeneye. A fairly modern system is needed to play emulate the machine, and a 3D accelerated graphics card is an absolute must (onboard graphics won't cut the mustard here). Game ROMs are available from ripped cartridges, ranging in size (5MB-70MB).
