- Carrot Weather is a hyper-localized weather app for iPhone and Apple Watch. The app uses weather data from Dark Sky, allowing it to provide real-time updates on current and upcoming precipitation.
- CARROT is, quite simply, the most customizable weather app in the world. Premium Club members can use Interface Maker to build the weather app of your dreams. Add new components, rearrange them, change their design, insert additional data points, and more.
Carrots take a long time to germinate in spring when the weather is cool, but only take days to germinate in summer. The key to great germination is keeping the ground moist, cool, and shaded. You can accomplish this by using wood boards on top of your rows, cardboard, or fleece row covers. CARROT Weather is a crazy-powerful weather app for iOS and Android.
Why do I have to pay extra for these features? I already paid for the app!
Most of the features included in the subscription have additional costs associated with them that go far beyond what is offered in my standard feature set.
The Weather Channel and AccuWeather data sources, for example, are significantly more expensive to use than my default weather data source.
And if you're an Apple Watch user looking for background updates for your watch face complications, each refresh of my weather data costs a small amount of money. Not a problem when you're only checking the weather once or twice a day with my iPhone app, but the complications automatically update over 50 times per day every single day of the year. Those costs quickly add up!
Ultimately, my Maker had to decide between requiring a subscription or not offering these features at all. I think you'll agree he made the right decision.
What's the difference between the Premium and Ultrapremium Club subscriptions?
The Ultrapremium Club subscription includes all the features of the Premium Club subscription, plus additional weather map features on the iPhone and background updates of premium weather provider (Weather Channel, AccuWeather, and Aeris) data on the Apple Watch.
Similar to the reason for why you have to pay extra for Premium Club features, the extra cost of the Ultrapremium Club subscription is there to cover the cost of even-more-pricey features. Weather map tiles are very expensive; the costs skyrocket when you're using multiple map layers at the same time. And because the premium data providers are so much more expensive than Dark Sky data, updating it 50 times a day every day of the year on the Apple Watch means those costs add up very quickly.
OK, so what happens when I subscribe?
All of my subscription-exclusive perks unlock instantly. The Apple Watch background updates are applied automatically, and you can modify settings like your default weather data source and Apple Watch complication setup whenever you like.
Subscriptions will be charged to your iTunes account after your confirmation of purchase. The subscriptions last for 1 year. Your subscription will automatically renew each month or each year (depending on the duration you select) and be charged through your iTunes account.
I'm already a Premium Club subscriber. What happens when I upgrade to the Ultrapremium Club?
You will automatically be refunded for the remaining time on your Premium Club subscription when you upgrade. The Ultrapremium Club subscription will be charged and go into effect immediately at the full price, and your renewal date will be changed to the upgrade date.
(Note: It can take up to 3 days for Apple to process the refund, so don't be alarmed if you don't receive the credit immediately.)
If I purchase a monthly subscription, can I upgrade to a yearly subscription later?
Yep! Just tap the 'manage subscription' button to be taken to iTunes' subscription management screen, where you can select the subscription duration that you'd like to switch to. The upgrade will go into effect on your next renewal date.

How do I downgrade my subscription to a lower tier or a different duration?
Tap the 'manage subscription' button to be taken to iTunes' subscription management screen, where you can select the subscription that you'd like to switch to. You will be billed the new rate on your next renewal date.
Can I turn off auto-renewal of the subscription?
Yes, you can turn off auto-renewal at any time from your iTunes account settings.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Cancellation of the current active subscription period is not allowed.
Wait, I thought my subscription didn't renew automatically. Am I going crazy?
Probably not! When the premium subscription was first introduced, it was a non-renewing subscription. However, Apple recently opened up auto-renewing subscriptions for all app types, so I decided to take advantage of all the extra conveniences and features that auto-renewing subscriptions provide.
If you currently have a non-renewing subscription, when it expires you'll be prompted to subscribe to the auto-renewing subscription. Don't worry, you can turn off auto-renewal from your iTunes account settings at any time, and iTunes will remind you when your subscription is about to renew.

Weather Data Sources
Dark Sky is the default weather data source for all users. Premium Club members can additionally access weather data from AccuWeather, The Weather Channel, and AerisWeather, or from their own personal Netatmo weather station.

Weather Maps
Which map layers are available in which subscription tier?
Premium Club users get access to Radar, Cloud Cover, Storm Cells, Tropical Storms, Temperature, and Wind Speed.
Ultrapremium Club users, meanwhile, get exclusive access to Lightning Strikes, Weather Alerts, Wind Direction, Humidity, Dew Point, Visibility, Precipitation, and Snow Depth.
What other map features do Ultrapremium Club users get?
Ultrapremium Club users can modify the start and end times of radar animations, which is the feature that enables the use of future radar.
In addition, you can add up to 3 map layers at the same time - and I can remember the layers for you so that you don't have to go turn them back on the next time you want to view the weather map.
Last but not least, there's a 3D Touch shortcut on my app icon that allows you to launch me straight into the weather maps screen.
How do I view future radar?
Scroll down to the bottom of the map layers list, then set the animation end time to a time in the future. Then go back to the weather map and hit the play button!
Do the map layers work in my country?
Most of the map layers only work in the U.S. and Canada for now. Cloud cover and lightning strikes, however, work worldwide.
Apple Watch Complications
How do I customize my complications?
Just select the watch face that you use on your Apple Watch, then customize it to your heart's content. Once you're done, tap the 'synchronize' button while my Watch app is running in the foreground to send the changes to your wrist.
(Note: There are many different watch faces available on the Apple Watch, but only four main families of complications. If your watch face isn't displayed, it's likely using complications from either the Utility or Color faces.)
How many customization options are available?
A lot! There are a bunch of data points for you to choose from, including wind speed, UV index, and precipitation chance. Plus, you can show only the temperature or only the condition icon, switch between the actual and feels like temperatures, and adjust the icon colors.
Can I have a large and a small complication active on the same watch face?
Yep! The Modular and Utility faces can support complications in both the large and small slots, so you can set the large slot to show humidity data while the small slot shows wind data.
What about two small complications?
Unfortunately, you cannot have two small complications active at the same time - at least not yet. Complications are based around design templates, and I check these templates to determine which data point to show. The small complications all share the same template, so there's no way to determine which one is supposed to show which data point.
Hmm. And can I set up different complication configurations for use on different watch faces?
You sure can! The Modular, Utility, Color, and X-Large faces do not share settings, so you can show precipitation chance in the small slot on a Utility face and UV index in the small slot on a Modular face.
(Sadly, the complication framework doesn't yet provide a way to tell the difference between individual watch faces in the same family, so you can't have two Utility faces with different settings.)
How often do the complications update?
My complications update approximately every 30 minutes. Background time on the Apple Watch is limited to preserve battery, so watchOS decides when the updates will actually occur. See the next question for some tips on how to ensure my complications update as often as possible.
What can I do to make sure my complications update as often as possible?
Location Services should be set to Always on your iPhone. In the Settings app, go to Privacy, then Location Services, then find me in the list and set me to Always. (See below for an explanation for why the Always setting is necessary.)
Background App Refresh should be enabled on your iPhone. In the Settings app, go to General, then Background App Refresh, then make sure my switch is flipped on.
Either add at least one of my complications to your Apple Watch's watch face or add my app to your Apple Watch's dock. To add me to your dock, open your iPhone's Watch app, go to Dock, switch Dock Ordering to Favorites, then add me to your Favorites list.
Do I need to have location services set to 'always'?
If you want my complications to display the weather for your current location, then yes. The 'always' setting provides an additional benefit: my iPhone app will be woken periodically in the background, which helps keep your complications as up to date as possible.
'But what about my battery life?!?' you ask. I use a special feature on iOS called “significant location change monitoring.' Rather than keeping the GPS on all the time, which can be a big drain on your battery, the monitoring service uses wifi and cell tower triangulation to find your current location. This doesn't adversely affect your battery, but iOS does show the location arrow in your status bar so that you’re aware a backgrounded app is accessing your location.
The changes I made to my complications aren't showing up on my Apple Watch! What gives?
Try rebooting both your iPhone and Apple Watch, then wait a few minutes. Simple trick - but it fixes this issue 9 times out of 10.
The sync button isn't working! What do I do?
If you have my Apple Watch app running in the foreground and sync still isn't working, it's possible that the Watch Connectivity framework that is used to transfer data between your iPhone and Apple Watch may have stopped working. Reboot both devices to restore the connection, then try syncing again.
Notifications
What kind of notifications can you send?
I support government-issued severe weather alerts and daily reports on the upcoming weather for your area. If you have an Apple Watch, you can also opt to receive precipitation alerts. After effects 2017 mac download.
Are precipitation notifications and severe weather alerts available in my area?
Precipitation notifications are currently only available in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, and parts of Canada. Severe weather alerts are currently only available in the U.S.
Rest assured, rest of the world, my weather data providers are working on expanding their coverage!
Will notifications appear on both my iPhone and my Apple Watch?
Yes, notifications appear on both devices.
On iPhone, you can even 3D Touch notifications to view more information (such as a rain graph or the full text of a weather alert) without having to open the app!
I'm not receiving notifications. What do I do?
Make sure Location Services and Notifications are turned on for this app. Go to your iPhone's Settings app, then find me in the list of apps towards the bottom. Location should be set to 'always' and Notifications should be set to 'on'.
