Brothers in Arms is one of our favourite franchises but sadly, ever since 2008's Hell's Highway, the series have been completely forgotten by the developer Gearbox Software at least when it comes to big AAA titles.
However, back in 2015, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford confirmed that a brand new Brothers in Arms project is been worked on. 'I think the next Brothers in Arms game has to be authentic and we have been working on that. I feel we have unfinished business there with both the fiction and the history and I'd like to get into that,' Pitchford told IGN.
And today, we have some brand new details about this project, coming from a 4chan leak. Keep in mind that everything you are about to read could be fake since it is not coming from the official channels. However, it would not be the first time that 4chan leaks are actually spot on.
As you can see from the screenshot, the leaker claims that the game is using Unreal Engine 4, and will be a soft reboot of the franchise titled simply Brothers in Arms. Furthermore, it is scheduled to arrive in September 2021 for PC and next-gen consoles.
Battle Of The Bulge Gameplay
The game's story is a pretty dark and gritty sequel to Hell's Highway and will be set in the Battle Of The Bulge with the first level taking place during the siege of Bastogne. Sadly, the original voice actors will not return but the gore is back just like tactical gameplay which will allow players to lead several platoons.
The leaker also states that the development was 'absolute hell' with a lot of things going wrong since the development of Borderlands 3 was a top priority for Gearbox.
Last but not least, the campaign will be very short and there will be no multiplayer or co-op which is why the leaker believes the game will sell at a reduced price.
